Ella’s Journey
This installation was part of a group show called "Missing Links" at The Gallery at the Institute Library,New Haven CT.
Photographs and artifacts are “missing links” in the journey of one’s life. They are physical evidence of where we are, and where we’ve been.
This installation represented the fictional history of Ella Bonheur from 1914 to 2014 as inspired by a discarded album.
In 1936, twenty-two year old Ella left Europe for America, displaced like thousands of others by the advent of WW II.
She leaves behind a dress, a marriage certificate, two suitcases, and photographs of a life lived long ago.
