“Ella’s Journey”

Photographs and artifacts are “missing links” in the journey of one’s life.

They are physical evidence of where we are, and where we’ve been.

This installation represents the fictional history of Ella Bonheur,

from 1914 to 2014 as inspired by ‘the lost album’.

In 1936, twenty-two year old Ella left France for America, displaced like thousands of other Europeans by the advent of WW II.

She leaves behind a dress, a marriage certificate, two suitcases, and photographs of a life lived long ago.
